When Alice died in 1925 from the effects of dysentery, she was listed as widowed.200 Her body was conveyed back to Wilkes County for interment by her niece Annie Jones. Simultaneously, Sister Martha was brought to Wilkes to live with relatives—Ms. Jones and her daughter Marion Jones Dula. She lived with them for three years before dying on November 16, 1928—three years and six days after the death of Alice.201 The remains of both repose side by side; once separated in life, their spirits are forever united.
